Bally's Player Room Review Harder than expected 08/02/08, Player: BeeDub55 Total Rating: 3.40 Room Quality Rating: 3 Room Quality Description: It's really not a room per say as it sits on the main casino floor by the bar in a roped off area. The tables are in good shape with cup holders in the rail which is always nice. The only thing I really didn't like that made me giev the average rating was the smoke that was in the area from the casino and the high level of noise. I think it would be much better in an area away from the main floor. Competition Rating: 2 Competition Description: After reading all the reviews, I thought I would make some serious money here. Wrong! My first two days I made about $500, but then it was all down hill after that. I got hit by 3 bad beats (aces over 7s full beat by quad 7s; kings over 3s beat by quad 3, and aces over kings full beat by quad kings), but never had a bad enough beat to collect on. Most people knew what they were doing and there we pretty many locals ruling the tables. They really picked on the fish and I'm lucky I'm an above average player or they would have taken me to the cleaners. The one thing I learned is that the people with money pushed the tables around. If you didn't buy in at the max which was $300, guaranteed that they would run you out of dodge really quick. You really couldn't play your cards because they would call all in pre flop more times then I could count. After taking 3 bad beats, I decided the cards just weren't with me and I left, never to return. I faired much better elsewhere. Dealer Rating: 4 Dealer Description: They really knew what they were doing and I did not see any mistakes in many hours of play. There was one deal though who kind of had an attitude with some of the beginners. She really didn't have time for them and it was obvious. It is my opinion that if people are throwing money on the table, whether they are beginners or pros, you're being paid so drop the attitude. Other than her, the dealers were professional. Cocktail Rating: 5 Cocktail Description: Being beside the bar, what more could you ask for. They brought the drinks super fast and they were always right. Management Rating: 4 Management Description: They keep the room running smooth and always had the board updated. I didn't do any tournaments so I couldn't tell you about that, but for the cash games, they did well. Comps Rating: 4 Comps Description: It's on the Total Rewards which I believe is $1 per hour which is normal for Vegas. Let's just say I played enough that I already had a two night room comp sent to me so it must be good. Back to Bally's Room Review |
