Caesars Palace Player Room Review
Caesars continues its slide down the toilet
04/10/08, Player: AtlPlayer
Total Rating: 2.65
Room Quality Rating: 4
Room Quality Description: Would be a great place to have a poker room. Beautiful, spacious, well lit.
Competition Rating: 2
Competition Description: It gets a "somewhat tough" rating because it is somewhat tough to rate a room that is nearly empty. Huge room full of tables hardly any players. could not even get enough players for a 3-6 limit game at 9:00 at night. While I love to play high on the craps and blackjack table I enjoy relaxing at the poker table at low stakes. Its hard to lose more than a few hundred even as bad as I play and that sure beats dropping 50-100 dimes on craps.
Dealer Rating: 4
Dealer Description: The ones I talked to seemed friendly enough, but hard to rate when there is so little action in the room only 3 tables going both times I went in. I did catch some negative vibes that I never have had on my previous visits. Though I couldn't get the dealers to tell me what was going on, seemed like every time one of the monkeys in the suits would walk by their personality seemed to change. If the dealer had been friendly and talkive just let a suit go by and it was like a veil of doom came over them.
Cocktail Rating: 1
Cocktail Description: I thought I was thirsty but a couple of things changed my mind. First the waitress that I did see looked like she was around when the the Roman Empire fell, when I asked her for a Turkey and coke she told me that they do not serve call drinks to poker players only well drinks (I could go put a dollar in the 5 cent slots and get any drink I want but it seems the poker room management won't let them serve any decent drinks) and then to top it all off the old hag told me she was not allowed to serve me if I was just waiting to play I had to actually be sitting in a game to a drink even a water ( yes I was turned down for a water, guess I should have flashed my 7-star card).
Management Rating: 1
Management Description: If I could give negative ratings in this department I would. I used to love to play at Caesars during my 6-7 trips a year I make to Vegas, but I have noticed a steady decline in the room over the last 8-9 months. I don't know why it has gone down the toilet so fast, but I suspect it has to do with management. The reason I say this is I left Caesars and went across the street to the Bellagio and played. While talking to the Vegas local players I heard several stories about how the room manager Jim makes it clear that the only thing he cares about is the bottom line. Seems he is under the belief "if you build it they will come", well I hate to inform him but poker player are smarter than they look. No premium drinks higher tournament fees etc add up to players finding another place to play. This 7 star rewards member has spent his last week ever at Caesars, seems they have craps tables and blackjack at the Bellagio also and they seemed glad to have me.
Comps Rating: 1
Comps Description: Poker room comps? I never have asked because my room, meals and shows have always been comp'd anyway.
