Paris Player Room Review
Won't last long...
07/26/06, Player: terrapin314
Total Rating: 2.70
Room Quality Rating: 2
Room Quality Description: Not really a room, but a roped off area by a bar and near a pit. Really seems like an afterthought, which it was.
Competition Rating: 5
Competition Description: I played 3/6 one weekday night at around 1000 PM. The game was one that you dream of. Each flop would have 7 players to the flop and multiple raises being coldcalled. A dream table. I can honestly say that there was only one to two players that had any idea of a proper approach to the game. One guy was drinking straight vodka until he got cut off (which in turn got me cut off as the waitresses quit coming around) and was raising every pot with nothing.
Despite this, I posted a loss due to getting sucked out on a few times. Twice I got beat on backdoor straight draws. I am not bemoaning the bad beats, but that is the nature of this type of game.
Dealer Rating: 3
Dealer Description: The dealers were fairly efficient with a minimum of mistakes. They were a little more laid back than other rooms and would joke around with the players.
Cocktail Rating: 2
Cocktail Description: They were slow and then nonexistant after my vodka friend got cut off. For some reason, the Paris waitresses have some the biggest natural racks I have seen... :-)
Management Rating: 2
Management Description: The only problem that I had was that I was first on the list and I found my open seat and asked if I could take. They were nice enough, however.
Comps Rating: 3
Comps Description: While not really a comp, they did have a high hand jackpot which got hit on my table. The winner had Quad 4's and showed his hand to a couple of us and then started to muck them. We shouted for him not to muck his hand and he laid them down face up. A nice 340 for him. The odd thing was that in the next 15 minutes another player had Quad 4's again, but it was only for 40 bucks.
I think they may give you the standard dollar per hour for comps.
