Bellagio poker room now spreading 1/2 No Limit Hold'em!
Bellagio poker room has finally bit the bullet and started to spread 1/2NLHE.

Date: 12/08/08
Room: Bellagio
Summary: Bellagio poker room, the highest end and most publicized poker room in Las Vegas, recently starting spreading 1/2NLHE. This is the first time the room has ever spread NLHE with such small blinds.

Content: The Bellagio poker room, in response to a very tough time in the poker economy, has started spreading 1/2NLHE for the first time.

Previously, the Bellagio had always spread 2/5NLHE as its smallest NL game. Though the max buy in has changed over the years (from $200 max to $500), Bellagio has never offered a 1/2 blind NL game.

The new 1/2 Blind NL game has a minimum buy in of $100 and a maximum buy in of $200.

The 2/5 game has a minimum buy in of $200 and a maximum buy in of $500.

An educated guess as to the reasoning for this game addition is in response to the primary competitor to the Bellagio: Venetian. Venetian spreads 1/2NLHE with a $300 max daily, and the game often spreads on 15-20 tables or more. This appears to be Bellagio's attempt to reclaim customers lost to Venetian due to their liberal NL game selection.
