Excalibur Poker Room Moving, But Where?
Recent Las Vegas Sun article states that the Excalibur poker room and sports book will move to make way for a new restaurant and bar.
Date: 03/03/06
Room: Excalibur (Original)
Summary: Recent Las Vegas Sun article states that the Excalibur poker room and sports book will move to make way for a new restaurant and bar.
Content: A recent article in the Las Vegas Sun quotes several MGM Mirage executives detailing their future plans. The article makes several interesting points, but one which was brought to my attention by an All Vegas Poker reader is that executives at Excalibur are planning to move the poker room.
The article states, “In the coming months, [MGM Mirage] expects to move the Excalibur's race and sports book and its poker room to make way for a new restaurant and bar.”
The article does not give any indication to where exactly the poker room might move inside the Excalibur casino. If the move does happen, it won’t be the first time the Excalibur poker room has been relocated. In fact, its present location is relatively new. It moved to its current location less than two years ago, when the poker room was expanded to almost twice its previous size.
Where will the new Excalibur poker room go? Will it be even LARGER? Judging by the number of full tables there on the weekends, who knows… could we see 30 tables at Excalibur?
Thanks very much to the source that provided the reference. Good eye.
